Nehemiah Jones scored 23 points off the bench as Reinhardt overpowered Tennessee Wesleyan, 120-106, at the Brown Athletic Center Wednesday night.
The Eagles (16-5, 10-4 AAC) led 59-47 at the half, but TWU (13-8, 8-6 AAC) fought back to lead 77-75. But it was not enough for the Bulldogs.
Reinhardt University was dominant behind the arc, netting a season-high 16 three-pointers. Duncan Jones was unbelievably efficient from behind the arc, making four three pointers as Reinhardt’s nine players scored at least seven points.
Nehemiah Jones had a game high in points, finishing with 23 points. Dwight Sanders added 18 off the bench while Samuel Bunkley added 15.
Tennessee Wesleyan was not taking a good care of the ball throughout the entire game, coming up with 25 turnovers. The Eagles took full advantage of that scoring 31 points of the
Reinhardt managed to come up with 14 steals on the game.
Reinhardt’s starters turned the energy up, netted a couple of three pointers, played good defense and they managed to bring the lead up by 19 points 120-101 with about 75 seconds left on the clock.
TWU had couple players scoring in double digits, led by the senior Tre Tiller who had a team high 18 points. Jordan Hall and Kenny Dean scored 17 points apiece for the Bulldogs.
The Eagles will be back on the court this Saturday at Allen in Columbia, S.C. The game is set for 4pm.
